The Usual Suspects
What's the minimum level of fitness required to participate?
Depending on the tour. The Cycling Machines, La Femme Ride and The Short Escape tours are created for avid cyclists, regardless of age, who like to push their limits beyond the usual. The Easy Riders is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, although some sort of regular cycling is required.
Is there any age limit?
We only limit the lower end of age at 16 years, accompanied by and adult. Apart from that, no limit.
Can I come with my partner who doesn't cycle?
Absolutely! We are happy to create an entertaining program for those who prefer to skip cycling. There are many other activities to choose from in Mallorca.
What language will be spoken during the cycling experience?
We are fluent in English, Spanish and Hungarian. Also, with todays translator apps there shouldn’t be any language barrier, we always find a way.
What is the best time of the year to join one of your adventures?
Mallorca, with its excellent climate almost all year around, can be an option for a cycling getaway anytime. The best conditions with milder temperatures would be in spring, from March to June, and the fall season, September to November. The winter months are best if you prefer low traffic during rides. Summer is hot, but with early morning starts we can assure some very pleasant easy rides.
How many people will I ride with?
Our cycling experiences are limited usually to 12 riders. On the other hand, we can tailor any of our tours for larger groups. Please contact us for details at hola@boc-cycling.es
Do I need special insurance?
Yes, a comprehensive travel insurance and also a cycling insurance is a must, to cover any personal injury or accidental damage to the bike.
What if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel for any reason, just take a peek at our cancellation policy in Terms & Conditions. Please remember, we have a ‘lets find a solution together’ approach in general.
Are there any discounts for groups or repeating clients?
Certainly yes, we offer group discounts. For details please contact us at hola@boc-cycling.es
BOOKING AND TOURS
How do I book?
If you are interested in one of our cycling adventures, please get in touch via email at hola@boc-cycling.es
When do I have to pay?
In order to secure your spot, a 500 euros deposit is required at the time of reservation. The remaining balance will need to be paid, latest, 3 months prior the starting date. In case your reservation is within 3 months, full payment is required.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better, in our opinion, to secure your spot. Many of our cycling adventures are sold out 6 months in advance.
Is there a minimum of riders required for any given adventure?
A minimum of 6 or 8 riders, depending on the experince, are required to start a tour. If the minimum number is not reached we always find a solution. We have never had to cancel a tour.
Is it a mixed cycling experience?
Yes, everyone is welcome in our cycling adventures, except La Femme Ride, which has been tailored exclusively for female cyclist.
What kind of support is provided during the rides? Is there a support vehicle?
All rides are accompanied by two guides, while mechanical and nutritional support is provided by our support van at all times.
Can I ride in the support vehicle to skip parts of the daily ride?
We highly recommend trying to finish every ride, at your own pace if you can not keep up with the rest of the team. BOC-Cycling is not a harsh, soul killing boot-camp, if you have any issues to continue, we’ll always be there to give you a hand.
What kind of preparation do you recommend?
Depending on the adventure of your choice, you’ll receive a training guideline according to the tour. In a nutshell, regular cycling is highly recommended at least a few months before any event.
BIKES AND ACCESSORIES
Is the bike hire included in the price and what are the options?
Yes, no need to worry about bringing your own bike. We have got the latest carbon bikes that the island can offer. From Pinarello to Bianchi, Colnago, Trek, Factor to name a few brands, always depending on availability. Electric Road and e-City bikes are also available.
What is the gear-set on the bikes?
Chainring 50/34 or 52/36 and rear cassette 11/34 or 11/30
How are the brakes set-up?
All road bikes have continental break-set. Left-hand front break, right-hand rear break.
Can I bring my own bike?
Sure you can, and you’ll receive a 100 euros discount of the price. Although, to avoid unnecessary headache, from taking the bike apart and packing it, to having it lost or damaged, the added travel cost and so on, in our opinion it does not worth the hassle.
Shall I bring my pedals and/or powermeter?
We’ll kindly ask you to bring your own pedals and cycling shoes (although, we can provide pedals if needed), about a powermeter, please contact us at hola@boc-cycling.es
Would you recommend or help with bike-fitting for optimal ride?
During the booking process we go through sizes and measurements. We’ll make sure you have the best bike-fit possible.
Is there an e-bike option?
Yes, there are e-Road and e-City bikes available.
What kit/accessories should I bring?
On arrival you will receive our BOC welcome package, that includes, among other things, our BOC-Cycling kit (jersey, socks, wind breaker) . We will provide a helmet and all the usual accessories that the bike might need during the rides.
